The walls, in your living room, dining room…even your laundry room are the best place to spend your design capital…both in dollars and drama. “If these walls could talk…” they should be saying that a very chic and very stylish domestic divine lives here! Really, your walls are a true blank canvas. Go beyond the Benjamin Moore fan deck and make a real statement. You don’t even need a loud splash of color. I do love a punch of tulip pink or kelly green every now and then, but I think that the coolest walls riff more on textures and pattern. I have sung the praises of lacquer paint…that is my favorite, and most budget friendly trick to really “wow” a room. If you are going this route, Fine Paints of Europe has the best…There are so many option….with wallpapers a pattern can create the illusion of layers that make a room fell cozy…with fabric you can pamper your walls in suede, linen, even leather and create a caccoon that is ultra chic (I am obsessed with this creamy alligator paper from Stark) or completely cozy. And then there are those really outside the box but fabulous mediums…mirrors, lattice from the garden, tile…..

Your walls are fairly life-proof…they aren’t breakable, stainable or scratchable…so invest in your bricks and mortar!

Here is a little inspiration while you stare at the walls…
